At NCCI, we’re looking for a Director-Internal Communications to serve as the Practice Lead for our internal communications needs. This includes the development and execution of comprehensive communications plans that leverage a broad range of media vehicles and platforms, including intranet, email, internal social feeds, video, and other communications technology. You will also have shared ownership of our large employee engagement events, such as Town Halls and All Hands meetings.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Internal Communications

  • Plan, create, and manage content for all employee communications vehicles
  • Create editorial strategy, guidelines, and calendars for generating a steady volume of engaging content that supports our strategic and cultural objectives, effectively conveys the message, and meets timelines
  • Oversee regular maintenance of intranet content to ensure freshness and relevance

HR Divisional Liaison

  • Coordinate and oversee all incoming communication requests, including interaction with stakeholders on timing, creative, and priority concerns
  • Fulfill all roles of a Divisional Liaison

Copywriter

  • Create original content and edit existing content for internal and corporate communications as needed

Community & Charitable Relations Communications Oversight

  • Maintain oversight on internal communications, local media relations, and close coordination with Community & Charitable Relations Manager

Disaster Preparedness and Crisis Communications

  • Serve as primary internal communicator for all business continuity and crisis communications
  • Manage crisis communication needs as they arise

Manage & Direct Assigned Staff

  • Responsible for management of assigned staff, including: hiring, position design, organization structure, performance assessment, coaching, pay, and corrective action and separations
  • Develop, review, and approve work schedules, work assignments, work processes, PTO and other time-off requests, and development through relevant training programs for staff


WHAT IT TAKES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of corporate communications/agency experience and intranet management
  • 5+ years management or lead experience
  • Outstanding, proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively craft meaningful, original messages and conduct public presentations that convey desired messages
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders
  • On-camera and on-stage presentation skills, including interviewing, hosting, and delivering business updates in an engaging way using humor and warmth
  • Knowledge of video, including concept and scripting skills
  • The ability to generate creative concepts
  • Expert understanding of Internet/Intranet technology and best practices that drive stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear messages for various key audiences
  • Ability to partner and collaborate with subject matter experts and creative team to get things done
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management skills
