JOB OVERVIEW:

NCCI, located in Boca Raton, FL, is a highly respected organization in the workers compensation insurance industry known for being the trusted source of information services. We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our team.

This individual is responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and operational support of the enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure in a multi-location, hybrid cloud environment. This role ensures secure, scalable, and resilient network services for internal and external customers. The role also places a strong emphasis on project delivery, strategic planning, and automation. Provide technical leadership and mentorship for team members and internal and external customers.

WORK LOCATION:

This position is open only to candidates living in a local, commutable distance from our headquarters location in Boca Raton, FL.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THE POSITION: 

Lead the design, building, testing, and deployment of LAN/WAN, wireless and cloud-integrated network, and telecommunications services in a hybrid cloud environment. Develop, maintain, and leverage expert level knowledge of network and telecommunications technologies to successfully deliver IT initiatives. Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, Ansible) to automate network configuration, monitoring, and reporting.

Participate in infrastructure architecture and strategic planning process. Collaborate with other IT teams and Infrastructure Architect to define and refine network and telecommunication solution architectures.  Evaluate vendor technologies and solutions for implementation in a production IT environment while advancing the direction of hybrid cloud infrastructure. Responsible for the creation and adherence of network and telecommunications architecture standards, procedures, and policies. Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and performance metrics.

Implement and maintain network security standards and guidelines.  Ensure the ongoing compliance monitoring to strengthen our security posture.

Troubleshoot, resolve, and document complex network and telecommunications technical and performance issues in a 24 x 7 environment. Proactively identify potential problems and implement solutions to optimize customer experience and SLAs. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members, and internal and external customers.

Serve as the project lead for the planning and implementation of complex IT projects.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE POSITION:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or related field; and a combination of 8 years of experience in a network administration role that includes telecommunications in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • In lieu of degree, additional work experience and/or trade school or applicable certifications are required.
  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise or Collaboration (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
  • Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing high availability network and telecommunication solutions in a multi-site hybrid cloud environment.
  • Extensive expertise in enterprise network architectures, technologies and protocols including Cisco enterprise class routers and switches, LAN/WAN protocols, Internet connectivity with multiple ISP's, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, ethernet, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, network security platforms including firewalls and IPS, VPN, Remote Access solutions, Network Management Systems, Wireless LAN including Wi-Fi 6/6E, VoIP, Unified Communications, Call Center applications, Data Center technologies.  
  • Expertise in automating processes using Ansible, Power Shell, or Python including experience with integration utilizing API's.
  • Experience in managing cloud networking on OCI, Azure, or AWS
  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems. 
  • Experience in the design, implementation and testing of Disaster Recovery solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of software defined networking concepts, DevOps, and delivering Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience in leading and managing complex cross-functional projects.
  • An ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to all levels of the organization and have a high-level of proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal level of guidance and direction.
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 IT Support environment as required.
