Join the leader in workers compensation data, information and insights in a critical that oversees the collection of claims data in 38 NCCI States as Director— Workers Compensation Data Collection.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
An exciting opportunity for a Data Leader to join a Data Collection Organization and help modernize and advance methods and skills. This role is responsible for the common components of NCCI’s core data collection systems and processes including data being transmitted to NCCI, development and integration of new data reporting tools, production ownership of critical data systems and data flow into products.
The central point of system changes for Data Resources including processes to request IT resources, leading ongoing systems plan portfolio, and divisional practice lead over systems testing coordination, disaster recovery, metadata. and process governance. Business owner of compliance services including Proof of Coverage (POC) and Bureau Compliance Statistical Services (BCSS) and lead on Residual Market Data Processes and Third-party data storage and uses.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Responsible for Data Collection systems and processes – ensuring operational efficiency and providing risk management. Ensures consistency of the data provider experience in reporting data. Ownership of divisional testing and methods.
- Leads database and data access planning in partnership with Data Architects and Data Stewards and assumes ownership of newly developed assets. Develops the needed skills to support new areas of ownership.
- Leads annual planning for divisional project portfolio and sponsorship for investment-level development for NCCI’s Data Collection tools and supporting systems.
- Oversees relationships with data providers, vendors, and other external data organizations; resolves data provider reporting issues and support ad-hoc information needs
WHAT IT TAKES:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, or Business Analytics
- Ten (10) years of total experience required consisting of the following:
- Eight (8) years of management or leadership experience in an insurance or data management role with at least five (5 )years’ experience in one or more of the following:
- Operational management with responsibility for data planning/data collection / data management.
- Leadership role supporting data transfer, data collection, and data management functions.
- Partnership with data leaders to implement data asset visions and plans
- Ten (10) years data collection, data quality, data engineering, or data systems implementation experience – including implementation of systems quality monitoring; acting in the lead data role working with users of data to ensure the needed quality and completeness are present in the data for the specified use. Experience with implementation and managing a large set of data asset controls.
- A strong general management skill set including: the ability to manage analytical and technical functions, expense management, vendor management, leadership selection, major systems and process reengineering, building and repairing customer relationships, and new process implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead broad change including integrated improvements that incorporate system, customer interaction, work process, and staffing model changes with complex planning overlays.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU A MORE VIABLE CANDIDATE:
Certifications: FIDM, CIDM, and or AIDA; workers compensation, policy, proof of coverage, unit statistical, residual market, and/or claims data experience.
